Ecosystem monitoring is one of the important parts of our effort to ensure sustainable development in the coastal region. It also raises awareness in the coastal communities to protect their coastal surrounding ecosystems. Hence, the monitoring activities are not only the obligation of the government but it also involves wider communities. Recently, we have nationwide monitoring networks from various institutions including government agencies, local agencies, universities, as well as Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). We also ensure the capabilities of our network resources through training as well as developing the standards, procedures, and guidelines for coastal ecosystem monitoring.
